Welcome to DBI Pottery Supplies

Formed in 1979, DBI came into existence as a refractory supply and installation company.  Dealing specifically in boilers and incinerators at an industrial level, the natural step towards kiln design and installation was made due to the same materials being used.

The ideal partner for kiln creation is of course clay supply and thus DBI Pottery Supplies came to be!

What began with just 1 or 2 types of clay has grown over the years to a steady stock of over 60 different clay types, including Earthenware, Stoneware, Slips, Porcelain, Terracotta and Paperclay to name a few.

Today our range extends to include all tools, glazes, underglazes, stains and raw materials you can think of. We stock the main brand leaders as well as some lesser known, more budget friendly options as well.

Based on Blackrock Road we welcome people of all walks of life, who wish to browse, simply need some guidance on their next project or know exactly what they’re after. Our clientele range from those looking to take up a new hobby to world renowned ceramicists. We love that each customer comes in with new and exciting visions of the work they will create and we pride ourselves in being able to advise and assist on all projects, no matter how big or small.

DBI Pottery Supplies

12-day kiln-build workshop with Robert Sanderson. A great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building, packing, firing and unpacking a small train kiln. The workshop will also include a presentation about kiln building, bourry box and train kilns, and the wood firing process.

Participants can bring up to 3 bisque-fired pieces (stoneware or porcelain) to be included in the firing, and the studio will be open for making last-minute pots, so you can have the chance to be part of the potter community, make connections with other ceramists, and get your hand dirty. The kiln cooling days will take place over the May bank holiday weekend to coincide with the Dingle Arts and Music festival Feile na Bealtaine.

Dates: 26th April – 7th May 2018
Fee: €500 for full 12-day workshop and firing, contact us for shorter workshop options and prices
